VINTAGE ART DECO CHINESE RUGS - March 2011
We are very pleased to have been able to put together a wonderful collection of vintage room-sized Art Deco influenced Chinese rugs dating from the 1920's and 30's .

This sub-category of Chinese carpets was woven in Beijing and Tienjin for sale to the American and European markets, and reflects the new movements in modern European architecture and decorative arts during the first third of the 20th century. With a hybrid of modern, nouveau and traditional motifs, the rugs combine both modern and classic elegance in their simplicity with uncluttered layouts, and wonderful long lustrous wool construction.

These large sized rugs, have all been carefully chosen and are in particularly good condition, and due to their size are being displayed at our Annex showroom in Aberdeen where we have been able to hang them on the walls and also display several in the open floor space we have there.

Prices for these wonderful examples of hand knotted wool carpets compare favorably with many modern production workshops, and work incredibly well in contemporary interior design schemes. We hope you will make time to visit us to see them. Please contact us if you would like photographs and sizes emailed to you if you have any particular spaces in mind that might benefit from one of these wonderful vintage rugs.
